Similar to Dune, another film that wasn't promoted as part one of a larger story, the film builds its world and characters very well and ends at an exciting point that leaves audiences yearning for a sequel. In the case of Wicked, it somehow feels like a half-movie, but still feels more complete than I expected. Despite its issues, there's no denying that this film is pure entertainment, which really appealed to me as a lifelong theater lover.
